“I’m sold on Trump” – Home Depot Co-Founder Ken Longone makes stunning u-turn

News"I'm sold on Trump" - Home Depot Co-Founder Ken Longone makes stunning u-turn

Ken Longone, a co-founder of Home Depot who once fierce critic of Donald Trump is now offering one of the strongest endorsements the former president has received from the business community this election cycle.

“I’m sold on Trump,” he declared during a conversation shared by commentator Bo Loudon on X (formerly Twitter). “In fact, I’ll say this: I think he’s got a good shot at going down in history as one of our best presidents ever.”

The billionaire businessman Ken Longone, who had previously hesitated to vote for Trump, cited a growing sense of national optimism and renewed energy under Trump’s political resurgence. “What I’m seeing happening is absolutely nothing short of a great thing. There’s a beat. People are walking with more bounce,” he said, describing a shift in the country’s mood that he attributes to Trump’s influence.

The transformation in tone is notable. In the 2016 and 2020 elections, the Home Depot co-founder was among the many high-profile conservatives who expressed doubts about Trump’s temperament and leadership style. He admitted giving friends and fellow conservatives “grief” for backing Trump when the choice came down to a binary one.

“I gave you grief,” he said during the conversation. “You were still complaining about Trump, and it was a binary choice. It’s like — are you kidding me?”

Now, however, he says he sees Trump’s leadership differently. He praised Trump’s bold decision-making, referencing a military operation — likely classified — in which a pilot allegedly told Trump, “You’re the only guy in the presidency that would have done what you did.”

“And you know what?” he added. “He’s probably right.”

The public show of support comes at a critical time for Trump, who remains the leading Republican candidate in the 2024 presidential race. While Trump continues to dominate GOP polling, his path to the general election is clouded by ongoing legal challenges and lingering concerns among moderate and independent voters.

That’s what makes endorsements like this one so politically valuable. They offer Trump not just validation from a business heavyweight, but also proof that some of his toughest critics have changed their minds.

And in a year where public perception may be as pivotal as policy, a message like “I’m sold on Trump” might just resonate beyond the boardroom.
